Description

Your support has been incredible, truly mind blowing actually. Thank you especially to those that have shared my patches on Facebook groups and forums. You doing that helps a small creator like me tremendously, honestly more than you know. If you like the presets please post your impressions online and if possible tag me (@Tanner Yates on FB) so that I can thank you personally. Any help I can get to spread the word is awesome!

Patch Details:

This preset pack is based around the amazing new Fender Princeton model in Line 6’s 3.0+ firmware. If you have not updated to the latest firmware please do so before purchasing, Helix’s with pre-3.0 firmware will not be able to load these presets fully.

Seeing as I own a handwired Fender Princeton this new amp model was very exciting for me and did not disappoint! I opted not to rush something out right away, I’ve been giving myself time to play with the model and really get familiar with it as it does behave a bit differently from other fender amp models in the Helix and definitely has its own vibe going for it. In the end I decided to try something a bit different with this pack, I hope you guys enjoy the added versatility and extra shades of tone the STR patch provides!

There are 5 total presets included in this pack. They are labeled:

  • S = Patches built for single coil guitars
  • SSC = Patches built for single coil guitars w/ Stock Cabs
  • H = Patches built for humbucker guitars
  • HSC = Patches built for humbucker guitars w/ Stock Cabs
  • STR = *NEW* Stereo amp patches offering a very different preset/effect layout and sound (my personal fav)

These presets cover a massive range of tones utilizing a huge array of effects pre-dialed in for you. This includes:

  • S, H, SSC, HSC Patches:
    • 4 gain options, 4 delays, tremolo, vibrato, spring reverb, my special Mod Verb and more
  • STR Patch:
    • 3 overdrives, 6 delays (everything from slapback to ping-pong stereo delays), stereo chorus, stereo tremolo, modulated reverb and more

Like all Yeatzee Guitar presets, these patches have stomp mode all laid out for your with footswitches preassigned in a template built for live use.

Stock Cabs:

With the Princeton model came a matching Princeton stock cab. I wasn’t expecting much but I actually found it to be quite good! So good in fact I honestly struggled to find IR’s I thought blew the stock cabs away. Your mileage may vary, but in general I think you guys will be quite pleased with the patches straight out of the box without any 3rd party help. 3 of the 5 presets in this pack utilize stock cabs dialed in so you don’t have to use IR’s if you don’t want to.

IR Cabs:

The H and S versions of the presets in this pack are setup with IR’s so that you can easily plug in your favorites and see how they compare to the stock cabs. Like I always do, I went ahead and tested every IR I could find to pick the best ones to recommend and ultimately my favorites are listed below (will update as I try new IR’s and find more I like). Unfortunately there aren’t many princeton specific IR’s out there, but maybe with this new model added to the Line 6 stable more will make princeton-specific IR’s!

  • Ownhammer (r)Evolution Pack
    • These IR’s are great. The debut bundle is an incredible value, there are more IR’s than you’ll ever need and they cover every major cab out there. Highly recommend. There are probably thousands of IR’s to choose from in this pack so it took a long time A/Bing them to pick my favorites, but here they are with some recommended setting adjustments.
    • ownhammer.com/store/debut-bundle
      • OH 112 DVRB CTS-C12 Vintage
        • Full, fat, warm. Probably my overall favorite IR I tested with these presets.
      • OH DVRB+VVRB Vintage BR
      • OH112 DVRB CTS-C12 Warm BR
      • OH 412 MRBW M75-GNR
        • Love me a 4×12 with fenders!
  • Tone Junkies M75-Fathead906
  •  TJ 66 Alnico Silver R121-SM545
  • TJ 57 P10R
    • https://tonejunkiestore.com/impulse-responses/1957-jens-p10r-impulse-response-pack
    • Speakers from a tweed era Fender but still cool! These are light on the low end and have plenty of cut up top. They require in my opinion some amp eq tweaks to get them right but in a live environment I think they’d definitely keep you from getting lost. I also found these quieter than OH IR’s, set TJ IR’s to be about -18db for roughly the same level.
      • TJ 57 P10R R121-1
      • TJ 57 P10R FAT 51-1
      • TJ 57 P10R FAT 545-5
      • TJ 57 P10R Fathead-4 and 1

It’s important to note that these IR’s are not requirements, and I whole heatedly recommend you try out the stock cabs as well as your existing impulse responses first (but be prepared to make EQ adjustments to match your specific IR’s, they make a massive difference in tone). If it sounds good, it is good, regardless of what type of cab or brand of IR you use. The only critical factor with impulse responses is to NOT mix two different IR’s made by different makers in the STR preset. There’s a high likelihood they will be slightly out of phase from each other causing weird effects to the tone. Always use two from the same company in a stereo amp patch for this reason.

Thanks so much for the support, I hope you enjoy the patch!
