Description
Your support has been incredible, truly mind blowing actually. Thank you especially to those that have shared my patches on Facebook groups and forums. You doing that helps a small creator like me tremendously, honestly more than you know. If you like the presets please post your impressions online and if possible tag me (@Tanner Yates on FB) so that I can thank you personally. Any help I can get to spread the word is awesome!

Patch Details:
Due to popular demand I decided to do a deep dive on the guitar tones featured by Bethel in the album “Starlight” and replicate it with the Line 6 Helix. The presets are based around dual amp stereo template featuring a Vox and Fender with a wide range of effects including 5 delays, 4 gain options, chorus, tremolo, modulated reverb, and more. These presets were built to be incredible versatile, and ready to tackle any modern P&W song not just those found in “Starlight.”
Like all Yeatzee Guitar presets, these patches have stomp mode all laid out for your with footswitches preassigned in a template built for live use.
There are 7 total presets included in this pack. They are labeled:
- S = Patches built for single coil guitars
- SSC = Patches built for single coil guitars w/ Stock Cabs
- H = Patches built for humbucker guitars
- HSC = Patches built for humbucker guitars w/ Stock Cabs
- KOMH = King of My Heart song-specific preset
- GIL2Y = God I Look to You song-specific preset
- STRLGHT = Starlight song-specific preset
I recommend trying BOTH the S & H versions of the patch with your guitar to see which one gives you a better starting point for your tonal preferences. To learn more about adjusting presets for your specific guitar check out this video: https://youtu.be/aqneGjqtwAk
Stock Cabs:
I tend to prefer IR’s for a few different reasons. In particular they use less DSP so you can fit more in a preset, and they tend to sound and feel more realistic to me. The biggest difference to my ears is the midrange, the upper upper treble frequencies, and the detail in the low end. With that being said, great tone can still be had with stock cabs and this preset pack is no different! I included versions of the base preset with stock cabs dialed in so you don’t have to use IR’s if you don’t want to. The only difference between these two presets and the rest are the lack of IR blocks, and I had to change the trem model to make it fit within the Helix’s DSP limits.
IR Cabs:
These patches were built using IR blocks. I tested every IR I could find to pick the best ones to recommend and ultimately my favorites are listed below (will update as I try new IR’s and find more I like).
- David Hislop (Bethel Guitarist) IR’s
- These IR’s are pleasing to the ear and not fatiguing. I used the two listed below in every demo of this preset pack, and the amp controls were tweaked using these IR’s as the base. For this reason, with other brand IR’s you might find the presets to be a little bright or a little dark. IR’s change the sound dramatically. If the patch sounds like it has too much upper treble step 1 is drop the the high cut on the IR block until it sounds about right (don’t tweak with your eyes, ignore the number and just focus on the sound), different IR’s let through different amounts of high end so that setting will likely need to be tweaked. Next step would be to adjust the amps treble controls a touch to better fit the cab / IR you choose to pair with the preset.

- Fender Amp IR:
- DH 2X10 G10v 57(3) 121(3-4) 30-70 (From G10V pack)
- DH 2X10 G10v 57(3) 121(3-4) 30-70 (From G10V pack)
- Vox Amp IR:
- DH 2X12 Green R40 3-4in (From Greenback pack)
- Fender Amp IR:
- Ownhammer (r)Evolution Pack
- These IR’s are great. The debut bundle is an incredible value, there are more IR’s than you’ll ever need and they cover every major cab out there. Highly recommend. As compared to the David Hislop IR’s listed above, these sound a bit more HiFi, have a more extended treble range and a bit more punch with less low end in general. There are probably thousands of IR’s to choose from in this pack so it took a long time A/Bing them to pick my favorites, but here they are with some recommended setting adjustments.

- Fender Amp IR:
- OH 112 DVRB CTS-C12 WARM BR
- OH 112 DVRB CTS-C12 VINTAGE BR
- OH 112 DVRB CTS-C12 VINTAGE
- OH 112 DVRB CTS-C12 BR
- OH 112 DVRB+VVRB VINTAGE BR
- With these you may want to start with the high cut of the IR’s around 7khz and/or drop the amp’s treble control by about 0.5 and go from there.
- 412 MRBW M75-GNR Vintage T1
- Just for fun this 4×12 cab will give the sound a different vibe that you might enjoy.
- Vox Amp IR:
- OH 212 VC30 BLU-12C VINTAGE DK
- OH 112 VC15 SLV-12B VINTAGE DK
- OH VC15+VC30 VINTAGE DK
- OH VC15+VC30 WARM M+
- With these you may want to start with the high cut of the IR’s around 7khz and/or drop the amp’s treble control by about 0.7 and go from there. These are thinner and brighter than the Hislop IR’s when compared side by side (but still sound very good, and realistic).
- OH 212 VC30 BLU-12C VINTAGE DK
- Fender Amp IR:
It’s important to note that these IR’s are not requirements, and I whole heatedly recommend you try out the stock cabs as well as your existing impulse responses first (but be prepared to make EQ adjustments to match your specific IR’s, they make a massive difference in tone). If it sounds good, it is good, regardless of what type of cab or brand of IR you use. The only critical factor with impulse responses is to NOT mix two different IR’s made by different makers. There’s a high likelihood they will be slightly out of phase from each other causing weird effects to the tone. Always use two from the same company for this reason.
Thanks so much for the support, I hope you enjoy the patch!
